Residential

A few questions you might have about our residential products.

Not all vehicles are built with sufficient capabilities to carry the weight of a heavy front plow. This is usually done by the vehicle manufacturer in an attempt to increase ride comfort as more small truck type vehicles and SUVs are used for personal transportation. The Snowman LDA Sport/Utility pull plows are specially designed to position snow without the use of a front mounted plow. The operator uses a hand held cab remote to position the snow to the left or right while driving forward.

Like most things, snow is much easier to pull than push. The power angle blade positions the snow to the left or right as you drive forward. In addition, Snowman pull plows have an exclusive high lift design which allows pulling away large drifts along garage doors and other tight areas hard to reach with a front plow.

Yes, there are two down pressure springs to provide better cleaning.

Commercial

A few questions you might have about our commercial products.

Yes, the SC and RS commercial model plows are operated with an electric over hydraulic power unit that has 1,450 pounds of pump pressure. The down pressure helps scrape the surface cleaner and allows for less ice control material to be applied.

There are several benefits of using a pull plow that provides time savings.

• eliminate back dragging and turn around time required by front plows

• get closer to garage doors and other tight areas to eliminate hand scooping

• Snowman’s exclusive high lift reaches over drifts

• pull snow out of loading docks quicker

Most front snowplow manufactures recommend using a ballast with a front plow for optimum plowing. By using a back plow you actually have a “working ballast” for your vehicle.

You can increase efficiency with the back plow by carrying two loads at one time. Fill your back plow then drop your front plow. You’re now removing twice the snow. The front plow only carries one blade across the lot. The rest is pushed to the side and has to be removed on the next pass. In addition you have the benefit of hydraulic down pressure to scrape the parking lot cleaner.
